Laura chynoweth, M.A.
founder & CEO
Backed by seven years’ experience in nonprofit development and 12 in communications, Laura founded Granted Fundraising Consultants in Salt Lake City in 2016. She serves as principal consultant and approaches all work from a nonprofit professional’s insider perspective, gained from previous roles including Grant Specialist for Girl Scouts of Utah, Development & Grants Manager for Utah Film Center, and Festival Coordinator/Corporate Development at Sundance Institute. Laura is passionate about staying abreast of best practices in the fundraising field and currently serves as communications chair for Association of Fundraising Professionals Utah Chapter’s board of directors. She also regularly serves as a grant reviewer, most recently for Utah Division of Arts and Museums and the Utah State Library Division.
Aliess has been honing her writing skills for years and has used her love of language to write grants of all sizes for organizations throughout the country. She has utilized her strong background in fundraising, community engagement, and corporate sponsorship, to support Harvard University’s CS50 R&D, the Salt Lake City Arts Council, the WAM! Boston Film Festival, and most recently at Neighborhood House in Salt Lake City. Currently, she is in the final stages of completing her Masters of Liberal Arts, with a focus in Journalism, at Harvard University.
